Merrimack On Main Second Floor Renovation
THE PROBLEM
Our client had recently purchased a beautiful home on the Merrimack River with breathtaking views. Unfortunately the views did not extend to the primary bedroom which was on the front of the house nor was their an en suite bath or true walk-in closet. In addition, the second floor did not offer a secondary bathroom for guests or other family members. In order to make this house a long-term home, our clients needed the layout to work harder.
THE SOLUTION
Collaborating with our clients and partners our team thoughtfully designed a new layout that met all of our clients criteria and devised plan plan and approach that allowed us to execute it efficiently. Given the age of the home, the framing presented some unique challenges that our team and partners work to find solutions for while minimizing impact to the approved design.
In addition to a riverfront primary bedroom en suite bathroom, a walk-in closet, and a new full bathroom, a small deck was built off the primary bedroom offering expansive views through the full height windows and doors. The former primary bedroom became the guest bedroom and a smaller third bedroom was repurposed as a home office.
Additional updates included custom stained hardwood floors, paint throughout, updated lighting, and a new cooling system.
